I usually am only into one show on TV at a time. Earlier this year it was American Idol. Lately it's been "So You Think You Can Dance." I love this show. I got started on the second night of the top 20 so I missed all the preliminary auditions and Vegas, but I loved what I saw. I love all the creative dances the choreographers come up with, I love how the dancers perform them, and I love getting to know everyone as the show unfolds. (I could do without Mary Murphy's screams and Nigel's cheesy smile, though.) I even vote ocassionally for my favorites. So I was way excited this week for the finale. I knew it would come down to the two boys, but I honestly didn't care who won, as long as it was Joshua, Twitch, or Katee. I was thrilled for Josh and think he really deserved it. And someday I will be able to dance like them. It'll probably be in the next life, but I'm gonna do it. Now I think my new thing to watch will have to be the Olympics. I love the summer Olympics! My other indulgence right now is the same as many of yours, only you've all probably finished it by now. I didn't get my copy until Wednesday and haven't had as much time as I'd like to read it since, but I'm halfway through now and enjoying it alright. It's definitely not what I predicted, though Joseph did somehow see coming the major plot twist that's occured so far. But I'm dying to talk about it with someone! Nobody here that I know of is reading it and I wish I could just discuss what I think so far without having to read people's reviews who have finished the book and get spoilers. I hope I like the second half and that the annoying things stop being annoying to me. (And this is for Jenny: I'm not in camp Jacob so much anymore. I think I was really only pulling for him all along because he's the underdog. If Bella had chosen Jacob, I would've been pulling for Edward. But Jacob's just gotten on my nerves this time around. I'm defnitely more an Edward fan than ever before, despite his too perfectness.) Alright, time to go back to being Mom and trying to sneak a few pages in here and there. :)

I'm so glad I'm not the only one addicted to that show! I actually really liked Cherington...but I know she's been out for a while. I was kind of pulling for Twitch at the very end but they are all just so dang talented! Happy Olympic watching (we're watching the opening ceremonies as I write...)!
I feel your pain- it is so hard to read and be a good mom at the same time. I never knew you were camp Jacob... I never was but I am liking him more now than ever. I wish I had some people around here to talk about the book too- thank goodness for the internet right...and book club- just too bad its so far away. Happy reading!
Becky, we still have so much in common. I was happy Josh won too although I really would have like to see Katee take it as well.
Now as far as Breaking Dawn goes call me and we can talk anytime. I must admit Bella has gotten pretty annoying but you deal with it for Edwards sake. We went to NYC on August 1st for Stephenie Meyers kick off concert series book tour. It was a great show, we got her autograph and a headache from all the screaming teenagers. It was a lot of fun.
By the way, I sure miss you!
You have no idea how hard it was to leave the US right during SYTYCD! I've been watching that show from the beginning....
My mom's been recording them for me and once I get my apartment's regular WiFi hooked I hope to watch the show over the slingbox.
I miss it sooo much.
I've downloaded Breaking Dawn onto my Kindle-- but just been too busy in Berlin to read it. It may be a while till I get to it. At least it is hard to get spoilers in another country ;-)
Miss ya!
Alyssa
I love that show too! I was just thinking last night I should blog about it since it's the only show I've caught all year long.
If you ever need to talk about BD with anyone let me know. It's been fun to hear everyone's thoughts and opinions now that the series is done.
I, too watched "So You Think You Can Dance." There were two great dancers from Utah so it was fun to watch :) The pictures of Sophie just make me want to say, "awwwhh." She is trying to figure it all out :) Too cute!
We should have planned book club sooner--I borrowed the book from someone who was only going to be around for 2 more days, so I had to read it fast, but figured better to ignore my kids completely for one day and then get back to being Mom. Can't wait to discuss it all. And its good to hear that some of the camp Jacob is coming around--I was thinking this book might do it. :)
BECKY!! I was so excited to see this post! I cannot wait to talk with you after you finish the book....I thought about you SO MUCH while reading it. Call me or write me as soon as you finish! And I won't give anything away....All I will say is, I didn't predict that at all, either!
And if you can believe it, I never watched SYTYCD, but we are LOVING the Olympics! (The summer ones are the best!) Tonight just ROCKED!!
Becky! SO FUN catching up on the haps in your life! (I haven't had access to the internet for a while now, so I have been out of the loop!) Anyway, I can't believe that Avery is already over a month old! She is absolutely beautiful! Sophie looks so grown up too - what a cutie! :) Sure love and miss you guys!
don't worry about ignoring your kids! jk. i'd like to know what you think about book #4. I was sorely dissapointed, but probably because i'm a beehive advisor and i can't believe what meyers puts in her 'YA' novels that they are reading at 12 years old! ugh. i'm fed up with her and the books, but i think i'm the only one.
I just finished Breaking Dawn last week as well. I thought it was great. I was sort of a Jacob fan for a while myself - Edward seemed so overbearing sometimes - it seemed like Bella could hardly think or do anything for herself when he was around....I'm an Edward fan again though. :)
Do you do Project Runway?
Hi Becky!
Congrats on three years! I like checking your blog and I noticed that you commented on Breaking Dawn so I skipped it--until now because I just finished the book and no one is here to talk to about it. So, I just went back to see what you and others said about it. I, too, am a Beehive advisor and am SHOCKED that this is aimed at teens! But, I've enjoyed the series =) Too lovey-dovey, but overall, pretty addictive. I loved this last one because I love how everything is pretty much resolved. Also, I converted to an Edward fan, as I, too, was a Jacob-ite. Anyway, I just wanted to get that out of my system!
