Missing You/Memory Tag

Joseph is gone today with his brothers who are visiting from Utah to Six Flags. So I am here with the girls all day long, and it's made me realize more than ever since we moved to California how much I miss my girl friends. I've never before lived away from everyone, all my friends and family (other than my mission, but that doesn't count for so many reasons), and I miss having people around to visit and do things with. Our ward has been great, but I feel like I haven't seen anyone from it in so long since I've been MIA for a little while during this (too long) recovery process after having Avery. And don't get me wrong, I love being a mom and spending my day with my girls, but I was spoiled living in Utah near my family as well as friends from my undergrad BYU days, my Salt Lake days, and the many we made while back in Provo for graduate school, and getting to see so many of you so often. I want to go to a Baby/Bridal Shower again, attend an MBASA Book Club or activity, or just have a girls night out with friends.

In short, I miss all of you dear, wonderful women in my life who have been such great friends to me. I wish I could call each of you individually to chat and thank you for being my friend, but since I can't reach everyone, I thought this might be the next best thing. Thank you for being a part of my life, for continuing to enrich it and share your lives and stories with me through your blogs. I will make new friends here, but I truly believe in that old adage "Make new friends, and keep the old. One is silver and the other is gold." You're all gold in my book. I love you all!

So in this vein of recognizing how blessed I've been in my friendships throughout my life, I'm going to do this Memory Tag. (I first saw it on Erin's blog and I modeled the directions after her--thanks, Erin!) Here's how it works:

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you have of me or Joseph or Sophie (or Avery if you have one!) Some of you I've known a long time, others just a short while, but it doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, just write something you remember! If we're only blogging friends, write about a post that is the most memorable for you.

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you. If you don't want to play on your blog, or if you don't have a blog, I'll leave my memory of you in my comments.

There are lots! Finding each other again in Brother Bott's mission prep class while announcing our calls. And lots of good talks and fun times while readjusting to being home from missions. Going out to breakfast when Christine was in town while you were pregnant with Sophie and Cora was still a little baby. So much fun! You are a great friend, and I'm so glad we've kept our friendship goin!

Um... can I just throw out a few phrases/ words to jog your memory? I don't want to embarrass you on this blog.
How about: CARPENTER??
I love that story which you first told us that evening we hung out in Wendover because we weren't old enough to see Steve's show. If anyone wants to know that story= ask Becky!!
How about smuggling ambrosia out of the DT dining hall to use in a dance invitation prank?
How about sliding down the ramp by the Marriott center using the DT meal trays?
Bonding over Anne of Green Gables love.
What about making your roommate laugh so hard she peed her pants in the dining hall?
Watching movies out by the Harman building when it was freezing cold.
Once we moved out of the dorms: remember when we all put on your clothes and hung out in the living room waiting for you- but you snuck in through the back and scared us all to death.
Yelling DHS at each other before we left the apartment!
I remember your fish in our apartment- I can't believe he lived so long.
All of us going to the grocery store just before midnight in Provo. It was THE thing to do, wasn't it??
What about the time you and Tonya put on my clothes while I was gone one night and took photos on my camera? I didn't know what you did until I developed the pictures.
I remember you getting your mission call. We all cried.
I remember our last day we were all together in SLC and we all hung out before you left on your mission-- the picture we took on your porch is still one of my favorite pictures of all us.
Your wedding day-- you were so pretty!
And now your blog- I love getting to see your little family!

I will do this tag later on my blog-- I am sure I will have my lonely days in Berlin too. Hugs!!

I miss you too. Your sweet little Avery is so beautiful! Congratulations and I hope you will be up and out again soon.

As for a memory I just love how welcoming you were to me and my family when we first moved in the ward last year. You are such a warm sincere friend, I know friendships will bloom where ever you go.

We sure miss you guys too! Your little Avery is so precious.

My favorite memories are our playgroups with you and Sophie and Tash and Abby. I miss having little girls around that Antalya likes to play with, and moms that I like to chat with.

We definitely miss you guys!

Our favorite memories of you and Joseph were our weekly game nights. We loved Friday nights when we would play speed Scrabble, Ticket to Ride and of course, Settlers, even though it took us forever to get to a place where we could actually win. We're so glad we had the chance to get to know you guys better and I truly hope that we always remain friends.

I don't think of school in Pendleton without remembering you! I don't have one specific memory but many many choir classes full of whispering and one heck of a prom. I miss you girlie! I am here in a new place now and without my girls. Change is never fun but it does help us grow, right?!

I can't believe how big your girls are!!! And SOOOOOOO cute! I loved the 4th of July Avery pics! Keep em coming.

In my mind I'm planning on seeing you again someday! I was thinking about you when we were at the beach the other day. You at one coast and me at the other! I'll send you a message in a bottle.
